This is it! We are delighted to host V Recordings in Singapore for their first ever artist showcase here. Yes this is a weeknight - but happily, the night before Labour Day public holiday.

V Recordings, one of the most iconic drum and bass labels in the world, celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. Established in 1993 by Bryan Gee and Jumpin Jack Frost, the label has been at the forefront of the Drum and Bass scene, consistently releasing ground-breaking music that has influenced generations of producers and DJs.

With a catalogue that includes some of the biggest names in the genre such as Roni Size, DJ Die, DJ Marky, Dillinja, Serum, Need For Mirrors and Krust amongst countless others, and well as a newer generation of artists who are making huge waves in the scene like L-Side, Paul T & Edward Oberon, Alibi, Command Strange and more V Recordings has been instrumental in shaping the sound of Drum and Bass. Whether you're a die-hard fan of drum and bass or simply looking for an unforgettable night of music, a V Recordings tour night is not to be missed. With three decades of experience and a reputation for delivering high-energy performances, V Recordings continues to be a driving force in the drum and bass scene and shows no signs of slowing down.

Bryan Gee is, without a doubt, one of the most respected people in drum 'n' bass. From the early days of rave to the present, he's been an ever-present authority and tastemaker, with an untestably deep collection of dubplates and grandmaster-level A&R skills.

His career trajectory is as unique as those one-away exclusive dubs on his USB stick. Starting out in the seventies as a reggae soundsystem selector in his native Cheltenham, he eventually made his way to Brixton where he formed a deejaying partnership with Jumpin Jack Frost. As a champion of the emerging acid house sound, Bryan became well-known as a man with his finger on the pulse, earning him a job pushing the new rave-orientated music for the Rhythm King offshoot label Outer Rhythm.

This experience learning the ropes of running a label set him on the path to musical majesty. As jungle took over from hardcore, Bryan Gee linked up with Roni Size and Krust and an DnB institution was born, distinguished by that iconic sun-face logo and christened with the letter V.

That “Bristol Sound” style of jungle drum 'n' bass that Bryan helped bring to the public went on to rack up awards, international success and critical acclaim, as well as inspiring a whole new generation of artists. No wonder many current A-list producers credit those tunes as their introduction to the possibilities of this music.

Continuing to spread musical inspiration to an ever-wider audience via his Bassdrive radio show and his V Recordings podcast, Bryan's attention to quality control has become a trademark.

After all, even as his family of labels expanded to include Chronic, Philly Blunt, and Liquid V, the standards have never dropped. Even just a list of the artists who've released with them tells quite a tale. We're talking names like Dillinja, Ray Keith, Adam F, Ed Rush & Optical, Marky, Peshay, Die, Clipz, Suv, Drumsound & Bassline Smith, Break, Voltage, Bladerunner...it's a legacy that can't be disputed.

No surprise, then, that a Bryan Gee deejay set is peppered with never-before-heard dubs that drop like tactical nukes in a dance, as anyone who witnessed his immediately-classic set at Andy C's Wembley all-nighter will testify.

Paul T & Edward Oberon. Leading lights of the V Recordings roster and Tilt Audio bosses, Paul T & Edward Oberon have been creating music together since 2011. But the roots go a lot deeper.

Londoner Paul T's journey into rave music began in the very earliest days and, after catching the production bug, he's chalked up a raft of solo releases on labels like Suburban Base, Good Looking and Dispatch, as well as deejay support from a Who's Who of the top tier.

Meanwhile, the Welsh-by-way-of-New-York Edward Oberon was making his name as a producer, deejay and vocalist. As part of the duo Saburuko and under his own moniker, he's responsible for tunes on imprints including Creative Source, Horizons and 31, as well as output in a multiplicity of other genres.

With a shared love for blending emotion and grittiness in their music, it was almost inevitable Paul and Edward's paths would cross, and their brand of dirty soul would connect with an ever-growing audience. Anthems like 'Look for the Light', 'Stomp' and the Serum collab 'Moon in Your Eyes' have cemented their position as masters of sub-genre defying soulful DnB.

Of course, Paul T & Edward Oberon's creativity doesn't stop at the studio door. Anyone who's caught one of their electric live performances – Paul tearing up the decks and Edward setting the dance alight with live vocals – will know that these two artists bring heat to the DAW and the dancefloor alike.

Globally-known, Paul and Edward have smashed sets from Malaysia to Montreal to Moscow to Milan, and most places in between. Offering a unique twist on the two-turntables-and-a-microphone live experience, and with a constant supply of armour-plated dubs, Paul T & Edward Oberon are set to take their brand of dirty soul DnB to a whole new audience. Watch out.

Saxxon. Well known and highly respected for his soulful, and experimental Jungle Drum and Bass sounds, Saxxon has had releases on major labels such as V Recordings, Liquid V, Chronic, Spearhead, Dread, and the Drum & Bass arena imprint. His success and extremely loyal fan base is the result of years of hard work creating stand out D&B tracks infused with a classic jungle sound that draws from a variety of genres including soul, funk, jazz, reggae and more.

Felon MC emerged from the UK Garage and Drum & Bass movements in the late 00s to win the Best Breakthrough MC Award 2014, and then catapulting himself to be a stalwart of the scene. Felon is much in demand across the world for his snarling urban poetry and has hosted the Mic Control over most luminaries including Goldie, Matrix & Futurebound, Danny Byrd, Hype, Hazard, G-Dub, Fabio & Grooverider, as well as guest artist work with SubZero. He holds residencies with Slammin Vinyl One Nation, Innovation, Enter & Drumfunk & Now recently Nass Festival, and is excited to host the first V Recordings night in Singapore.

MC Battery first broke onto the London squat party scene back in the late 90s and early 2000s. Following on from that he performed across the UK at more commercial venues, such as the iconic Bagleys in King’s Cross. Now based in Hong Kong, he has performed for promoters including Heavy and Magnetic Soul, over sets by international DJs, including DJ Storm. This is his third time performing in Singapore, having previously spat rhymes over Mampi Swift and local light, Senja.

Our residents Suffix Sans & Davros will be pulling out the stops to provide fire support to the rest of the crew.
